In partnership with the Office of High School Development and the Office of Community Collaboration, UIC administers free programs for pre-college students, including dual-credit and dual-enrollment courses with partner Chicago Public Schools (CPS) high schools. This program brings high school juniors and seniors onto campus to earn college credit. In the first round in the Fall of 2023, forty students from eight high schools in Chicago took part in the dual enrollment classes.

While the UIC Office of High School Development previously had offered high school students opportunities to take courses online, the idea to bring students to campus was championed by the office student success and belonging, as a way for students to see themselves thrive on a college campus.
