NAMI Chicago Peer Support Groups
NAMI Chicago's free and confidential Peer Support Groups provide a listening ear and a space for
individuals who have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition to talk through whatever
you need. These groups are open to anyone age 18 and up.

A Helping Community
By sharing your experiences and hearing other people's stories, peer support groups can help give you hope, empathy, and connection to a larger community. Our groups can empower you to develop better coping skills, reject guilt, embrace humor, and understand your experiences.

Led by People Who've Been There
Peer Support Groups are led by people who know what it is like to be on a mental health journey. They are a space for others on their own journeys and their loved ones to gather and participate at their comfort level, without prescribing any specific therapy or treatment.
Any Support Group attendee can become a Group Facilitator and provide empathy, connection, and
hope to others. To learn more about this role, contact Andrew Kaufman at 312-563-0445.
